FAQ

While nutrition and physical activity play major roles in our health, they are not the only factors that affect our well-being. Other factors include:

  • Getting enough sleep
Regular sleep is necessary in helping you with your eating habits and physical activity. It can also help you feel and do better as well as lower your risk for serious health conditions.
  • Drinking enough water
Water is critical in keeping your body functioning properly, and not drinking enough water can wreak havoc on your body.
  • Coping with stress in healthy ways
While stress is the body’s natural response to new or challenging situations, long-term stress can negatively impact your health and lead to unhealthy and even dangerous coping mechanisms. Learning healthy ways to manage stress can improve your emotional well-being and overall health.
  • Developing and maintaining strong social connections
Social connections can help maintain or improve physical and mental health, especially when dealing with chronic health conditions, mental illnesses, or substance use disorder.

The LCO Health Center offers medical services, resources, and events to help Tribal members improve and maintain their health and well-being.

LCO is also looking to start a weekly walking event where community members gather to walk together and support each other in improving their health. Check back later for more information.
